That was the point I realised the character of the man, I unfollowed him on Twitter (as it still was) and blocked his posts. His reaction to the mildest of criticism on that occasion with vile and unfounded allegations showed him for what he was.

Relieved that the jobs and shipbuilding capability look like they will be saved. Frustrated that such an obviously sovereign requirement has to be saved by a company owned by a foreign state. Not a xenophobic point, just that if the Spanish can do it, why can't we?

An interesting read, with some real data. More to the point, what do you make of his analysis? You may recall that was the question I originally asked.

I suppose the same argument could be made about a Conservative MP commenting on a Labour Government's policy. I am not party political but I am interested in facts. @danneidle.bsky.social appears to be using reputable data sources for his analysis. Do you have a fact-based response to his thread?

@benobesejecty.bsky.social - have you looked at the analysis by @danneidle.bsky.social on this? bsky.app/profile/dann...

It appears to be based on valid data. Am I missing something?
The Country Land and Business Association says the new £1m cap on agricultural inheritance tax relief will "harm 70,000 farms". That's 1/3 of all farms.

What does the actual data show? Less than 500 farms/year will be pay more tax as a result of this change every year. Possibly as few as 100.
