MANY #dragonfly specimens @ the Univ of Michigan Mus. Zoology were collected by EB Williamson: banker, iris breeder, & #curator. His outer paper triangle comments can be fascinating, but the inside of this one caught my eye - made from a slip from his bank! #entomology EBW: tinyurl.com/yxbwjncs

I sometimes go by the nom-de-plume "Nannothemis" because the Elfin Skimmer, Nannothemis bella, is one of my favorite #odonata. It's the smallest #dragonfly species in North America and favors open, boggy habitats. Here's a male I netted for perspective.

I often have to search for #Odonata specimens in the Univ. of Michigan Mus. Zoology insect collection in these folded paper triangles. I sort of dread finding super-tidy boxes of them like this, because I know I'm unable rearrange them so precisely! #entomology #curator #invertebrates #dragonfly
