Treat yourself to a look at the horseshoes at Oakham Castle in Rutland. A quick search brings up loads of images, including the one below on luxuriousnomad.com. It’s a good place to visit, but a very long walk from here. There’s also a bakery nearby selling pecan buns that MUST NOT be ignored.

We had a delightful day @sidmouthfolkfest.bsky.social yesterday (& wish we could have more). Highlights include bumping into @jenniferballads.bsky.social & @wessexhag.bsky.social & Socs getting a photo with Charlie Cooper after his fab talk. Hoping we’ll be more involved next year. Tomorrow we open the doors on our next exhibition - Max Naylor, The Thin Veil. This is a wonderful collection of the most engaging, absorbing landscape-based paintings. Opening celebration 6-8pm at the gallery - ALL WELCOME!

‘Growing Season’ by Emma Thistlethwaite comes down this afternoon. If you’d like to see this enchanting show of floral artistry rooted in folkloric thinking, we’ll be open from 10am today. You can watch it being disassembled from around 2pm!
