Tank update (this was from Thursday). All fish and coral are back in a tank. In this picture sand sediment is still settling so it's a little cloudy but as of yesterday it was perfect .As of Friday morning it looks like 2 fish casualties, no coral casualties.

One of my chickens has always been an overachiever in producing seriously jumbo eggs. Thought it would be fun to compare an average egg from my flock with a duck egg and one of Rosie's eggs (though my flock produces extra small to jumbo) (read the alt text!)

One of this year's hatchlings has started laying. Her eggs are so cute. The cream egg is from one of my older hens and had been the smallest egg. New layers tend to lay small eggs for a little while so it'll be interesting to see where these end up being size wise.

Youngest of the 2024 hatchlings is super gorgeous in her coloring. This picture doesn't do her coloring justice - her front is almost glowy peach in the sunlight.

One of these is a duck egg, one is a goose egg. This is the goose's first laying season so my guess is hers will get bigger but for now, no way of telling.

Happiness is processing 2 decently large boxes of seconds. On the left, the results of one box cooked and run through the food mill, now cooking down for canning. On the right, the second box cut down to start softening before going through the food mill. Can't wait to see how many jars I get.

This morning I caught a perfect moment in time where my front yard was glowing with the way the sun and clouds were situated. The effect was gone just 4 minutes later.

Every night my dog goes through one of two phases: psycho puppy or parkour puppy. Tonight he is both. The rest of the day he's usually a sloth in arms and has become an integral part of my team.

I know we're only coming up on two years here, but this is not normal l. We should not be able to see the waterline that far down. Someone in town was asking who else had their well run dry, and as this is the first time I've ever in my life had well water, I'm concerned.
