I don’t know how cold it got overnight, bur the pepper and tomato plants’ leaves look like cooked spinach today. Only one plant survived and it lives against the house… brick (below the siding and hidden behind the plant) probably kept it warmer. 🌱

The nasturtiums do not care about cold nor frost; they bloom and fluff their delicious leaves and keep going! 🌱

Despite some cold nights, this tomato plant continues looking lush and covering itself in ripening fruit. Will need to save some seeds and hope for similar future cold tolerant plants! 🌱

I have this one, too, in which you have a short story alongside others. The owl year of the Autumn Nights anthology!

So, I picked some dried magnolia fruit. The red seeds are tucked away in a cool dry space to wait for planting next year.

Check out how the red seeds were each attached by little “threads” and dangled from the dried fruit/cone/thingy. 🌱

This huge magnolia tree is covered in mature red seeds! Might need to take some and try to grow trees next year.

Wish I could sue the people who moved, abandoned their cat, refused to come back when the microchip company contacted them (2x), & left this poor baby homeless. I have spent a lot $ just keeping him fed/meds.

Would love for the county to press charges! Broken system, tho.

Some humans suck.

In the Libby app looking for a new audiobook, and this cover catches my eye. I start to read the description, and see one of my favorite authors (T. Kingfisher) is quoted / endorsed this book. I borrowed it immediately, and look forward to giving “Strange New World” by Vivian Shaw a listen!

I brought this new-to-me chair into the house 60 seconds before taking the photo. When I took the photo, Chicken The Cat had been on the chair 15 seconds. How she shed that much hair in 15 seconds I do not understand. #cats 🙀

They often land-leave-return to the same perch, making it slightly easier to take their photo.

I love how this bird pecked one peanut, then chose another which had already broken open.

Love these fliers!

I remembered to replenish the (unsalted) peanuts on the front steps, and this lovely Blue Jay came for lunch.

This may look like an adorable yellow-and-white tiger baby snoozing in a closet nook, but she is actually in a nook with her butt next to a floor vent basking in the A/C wind.

I have left the back yard to the pollinators this season, and spotted a yellow flower out in the yard. Turns out it is a squash-like plant out in the jumble of grasses.

Chicken the cat loves lying in the sun. Unfortunately, there is an abandoned cat who terrorizes Chicken if she tries to go out on the porch. This is the first day in months she has felt the sun on her.

IDK why the other cat is not out there bullying as usual… may be due to hot weather.

But I don’t want to consider another book! Cannot listen to this new James Oswald book from North Carolina USA.

Guess I’ll just have to order the physical book to read.

My yard sale find this weekend. The crafter who made them used to gather dried bits along the roadside.

My favorites are the raccoons in front.

(Yes, all are quite stabby but I shall use them to decorate the house and yard.)

I own more than 5 #pencils. Will the Admin be sending their masked police to seize my extra pencils? Or is it only 11-year-old girls who are limited to 5 pencils?

(Real Q: When are these bad actors & traitorous dingbats going to be removed from US office and face consequences?!)
