It’s my understanding, since listening to some survivor interviews, that the men were often not named during the encounters. The girls did not always know the names of these men. That may be one reason.

Why do I have to listen to this liar talking every day?! When we were kids and someone was a habitual liar, we eventually ignored everything they said and got our information from other kids who didn’t lie.
