We've been to the British Geological Survey and sampled a Silurian core for Julie's PhD project. And of course, when in Nottingham, you just have to visit this particular pub...😊

Attended the #FORCE_Biostratigraphy meeting in Stavanger. Such a good meeting with great talks. And I was so happy to hang out with old and new colleagues and old friends. Palynology and micropalaeontology are not dead - they are evolving! 🌿

And of course, at #NGWM2024, I gave a talk on our most recent research on the #endTriassic #mass_extinction and land plant responses to volcanic induced climate and environmental forcing by the #CAMP large igneous province. With R. Bos, B. van de Schootbrugge, H.i.G. Rasmussen, H. Sanei, C. Tegner.

At #NGWM2024, Morgan Jones presented our poster on the #ICDP project "PVOLC: Volcanic forcing and Palaeogene climate change". This project aimed at obtaining a core drilling through the #PETM and Paleogene strata at Fur in Denmark is currently on hold awaiting a Danish membership in ICDP. 💉⚒️

So far this Xmas vacation, I haven't done anything work or research related. Laptops haven't been opened. The microscope is unplugged. I am having a wonderful time 🌿❄️🌲
The last 2 1/2 years have been so tough. All my energy focused on surviving as a researcher in Geology after being retrenched. ⚒️💉

Last week, I visited the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to give a talk on the APT - AI/ML project in palynology, and I had the opportunity to check out their digital slide scanned that has provided the digital slides for the project. Also hung out I Robert W's office and use his microscope.💉⚒

Very nice #EarthTalk at @Geology_UCPH and #GEUS by Christian Berndt. Fascinating to see how the volcanic margin was formed before and during PETM 🌿
I was happy to be able to listen in online on my lunch break as I was stuck in my home office working. 💉⚒

Visited the Department of Geosciences in Lausanne earlier this week and gave a talk on the end-Triassic mass extinction, and the influence of CAMP volcanism on land plants. Had a fab time 🌿

Home with a bad cold watching SevKender giving an Earth-talk at Geology_UCPH on Hg, LIP volcanism and the #PETM. Thankful for technology 😊🤧🌿#NAIP ⚒💉
