The PFC is in charge and regulates our bodies, feelings & behaviour in calm times. Under stress/threat, the Limbic system takes over & shuts down the PFC. Vertical Integration, improves connectivity & prevents this from happening. Even under threat we remain ethical adults. VI is the job of therapy.

Here’s my reminder card for parents & anyone who interacts with children and young people. Children and young people are not ‘objects' to manage. Childhood is also not a 'fun & games break’ before adulthood. It is a busy, crucial time when young humans develop and learn how to be adult humans.
