Despite significant global challenges, governments & private donors came together to pledge a total of $11.34 billion to the Global Fund's 8th replenishment in a display of international unity in the fight against #HIV 🎗️, #TB 🫁 & #malaria 🦟.

👏 Yesterday, the United Kingdom announced a GBP850 million pledge (over $1 billion USD) to The Global Fund's eighth replenishment.

"The UK's new support for the Global Fund is an investment in our shared security and prosperity," said UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper.

Tuberculosis (TB) that doesn’t respond to standard drugs is called drug-resistant TB and emerges when TB medicines are used inappropriately.

Although the number of people developing drug-resistant TB has declined since 2015, it remains a global public health crisis affecting 390 000 people in 2024.

A new report from Malaria No More UK and ALMA warns that underfunding #malaria programs could cost Africa $83 billion in GDP and 990,000 more lives lost. Sustained investment in the Global Fund is essential to keeping progress on track.

✅ TB deaths down 40%
✅ Malaria eliminated in 21 countries

Those are some of the reasons.

There are 70 million more – that’s how many lives the Global Fund has saved.
