We got a tiny raise six months ago, and when open enrollment came out this month we discovered our contribution for medical is going up, so, we're now about a nickel below what we started from in Jan. Moral of the story, the corporation always finds a way to get those pennies back!

I had to set a rule that I unless someone was literally dead, I refused to acknowledge any texts or calls sent more than 30 min after I left work, or any of my days off. People would get very annoyed. "But I had a question." Me: "Uh, huh, I know. And I wasn't answering it for free."

I respond to texts when I feel like it. That might be right when they're sent, or maybe a day or 2 later. It's my time, & I give it to people when I choose to do so. I do also understand this goes against the social contract currently in place, but that's more society's problem than mine :)

It took into the '00s for it to be 'okay' to be gay, so it was definitely difficult to knockout the F word anytime before that. In the 90s I remember yelling at my teen nephews for using it & one of them said, "yeah, not in front of Auntie!" I said, "no, don't use it period! Knock that shit off!"

No, no it's fine :) I'm not in the 'love it,' category. I do remember having them once or twice growing up, and they do taste much better than they look. But of course they would have to. Ha, ha.

I'm from the South Shore, and my roommate in college was from RI. She introduced me to coffee milk, and unfortunately you really can only get it in that exact geographic speck of land. Which sucks when you both crave something extremely unique, and now live 600 miles away from it

I block people if they keep showing on my feed & I didn't want to keep running across them. They weren't necessarily offensive, but really, we're all strangers so if you're not the mood to hear about some other stranger's life, why should you? And I'm totally cool w/blocking me for the same reason

I immediately flashed on the Simpsons episode where the whole town shows up at Ned's fallout shelter. So in this scenario, you do get the full cross section of the populace, while also knowing all of their business as they're showing up at the door.

"Politically correct" became a term as I was coming out of high school & it was really just the lowest bar of "maybe let's not say cruel, racist, hateful things DIRECTLY to people's faces." There was so much pushback! And these are the same people still pissed at the silencing of their inner A Hole

I don't drive either. Let my license go when I went to college, then I didn't need a car again for 20 yrs until I moved to this smaller city with no subway. But I set up a flat rate, off the books pickup/drop off w/a lady Lyft driver so she takes the whole profit & I save like $150 a mth. Been great

I truly think most normal people are moving away from Twitter, or have already left. And even more will be gone by '24 so disinformation on there won't have the same effect as last time. Twitter will no longer be a 'respected' source of information. In a yr it'll be like saying you saw it on 4chan
