My record shop boss @riverman.bsky.social said today 'I bet you don't have any Pink Floyd albums'. I agreed but forgot I had Wish You Were Here tucked away. I quite like Meddle too but I don't have a copy right now

Failed to get to grips with this Costello album when it came out in 1991 so I'm having a proper listen now. Hurry Down Doomsday has not aged well but there's lots to like @johngstyles.bsky.social. All Grown Up and So Like Candy standing out

Thanks @jimmyviz.bsky.social for keeping us spinning. I will sign off with two alternative versions of Costello's Watching The Detectives. If there are more versions please let me know and I may be tempted. Have a good week!

Thanks for all the posts and conversations so far this weekend - we're always happy to chat 45s/record shops etc. Here's a selection I'm playing between church/taxi runs/driving lessons. Have a great Sunday everyone!

This time last week my bro and I were drinking Guinness and visiting record shops in Brighton. It took me a moment to realise that the Singles Bar and Wax Factor were essentially the same record shop!

Here's a random selection for my to play pile including this Immaculate Fools 45 which @riverman.bsky.social kindly helped me to locate. Got Me By The Heart is on the flip and I think it's just as good as the A side

Got a feeling it's Tuesday so I've reached for a few 12s! Old (Dexys) and A Campfire Song (10,000 Maniacs) are great B sides/extra tracks

Flying visit to Brighton to see my bro Pat who kindly bought me a few 45s! We took in Across The Tracks, Wax Factor, Rarekind and Dream Street where the owner gave us a super warm welcome

Sad to hear the news this week about Squeeze drummer Gilson. I'm sure we've all seen the band a few times over the years! Thanks @jnanagarbha.bsky.social for your round-up of some of the best Squeeze 45s

Picked out a few tunes to play between taxi runs. Found the Primal Scream at the weekend in an Oxfam basement off Tottenham Court Rd!

Took in the fragrant Columbia Rd flower market and stumbled across a couple of record shops. One featured slightly overpriced LPs (in my view) and some record decks. The wine shop doubling as a record shop was my pick - it has some interesting fairly priced stock

Record shopping in London starts for me at Reckless in Soho as I can combine it with family theatreland trips - last night it was Mamma Mia! Reckless always has something good and who knew there were records in an Oxfam basement off Tottenham Court Road?

Was happy to find Gypsy on 12 the other day - one of my favourite Suzanne Vega songs. The rest are random selections from the shelves!

Picked up some Ella, Louis and Diana Krall on a quick working lunch trip round town. Feeling pretty laid back now to be fair!
