Man with moth (I assume it is a moth). Film, minilab dev & scan, 2002.

A man's face fills the frame. There is a large moth perched on his face. It completely covers the lower half of his face. Its head is on his nose, the bottom of its wings are below his chin, and the tips of the wings stick out well beyond the sides of his face. His eyebrows are raised and he is rolling his eyes in mock surprise.

Not a Soviet-era sanatorium, but a seaside shelter in Llanfairfechan, North Wales, a small Edwardian resort. It has a nice view of the back of the sea wall.

A black and white photo of a severe looking beach shelter with five bays, each with a very basic bench at the back. It looks unloved and semi-derelict. I can imagine all the people sat there sheltering from the rain, until it was time to go back to their guest houses.

Black Dog(s) 2023
A simple black and white photo of a person walking past, to the right, showing only their legs, wearing black trousera and boots. They have two small black dogs on leads. The right hand dog is leaving the frame, so its head is missing. However, the left hand dog is just coming into frame so only its head shows. It sort of looks like the first dog's head, but separated. God I hate describing my own photos. x

Scene 2. Our hero steps out of the hut, carefully closing the door behind him. He removes a large splinter from his hair, dusts himself down, then walks slowly out of frame.

The street today
Monochrome photo looking up the street, with old houses on either side, and a chapel in the distance. There is a thin sprinkling of snow, showing very clear wheel tracks and a few footprints. The telephoto compression makes the gentle rise in the road look much steeper.
