Philadelphia's Pension Fund invests 99million in nukes. It's time to reinvest locally in affordable housing and healthcare. At a time when the world is at the brink of nuclear war, Philadelphia shouldn't be investing 99million in nuclear weapons. Philadelphia has already divested from tobacco, guns, and prisons. Why is Philly still investing 99 million in nukes? Research shows that investments in healthcare, education, and clean energy create more jobs than military sector spending. So why is Philly still investing 99 million in nukes?

📣 We're testifying at the #Philadelphia budget hearing! We're asking for more funding for #SEPTA, our regional public transit. 🚍 Fully funded public transit is important for reducing greenhouse gas emissions & for the rights of working class ppl. 🌍 🏙️
Fridays For Future Philadelphia organizers are testifying at the city budget hearing this week! We are advocating for increased public transit funding in the city budget. Why is this important for action on the climate crisis? Too many vehicles on the road pollutes Philadelphia's air and emits greenhouse gases, contributing to the climate crisis. Fully funded public transit encourages ridership, reducing cars on the road. This make sour air cleaner and reduces our emissions. Why is this important for social justice? 20% of Philadelphians live at or under the poverty line, and more low-income people use public transit instead of a personal vehicle. SEPTA will cut services and raise costs if enough funding isn't reached, putting undue burden on poor and working class residents. The Philadelphia Transit Access Fund. A 2-year Zero Fare pilot program for residents near the poverty line may be cut out. Councilmember Nicolas O'Rourke introduced legislation to keep and expand it. We're excited about this legislation and fully support it, and plan on highlighting it in testimony.
