Things still rust in a desert climate. It just takes a lot longer due to less water. Condensation from day/night temp swings may provide some water, but not a lot. Sand would also have to be blowing very hard to remove the rust. Might erode the paint, though!

Double-Stuf Oreos are more or less what that name is based on! I can't remember where i saw it, but I've seen that name used before, and I thought it was a good teasing name.

she's a character that's been rattling around my head for some time, just feels like it'd work so well, an absol storm chaser.
That, and maybe using disaster sense to put herself near danger, but still safe, that she might have a certain someone come "rescue" her. It's a cute idea to me at least.
