I assume these men are supposed to be French African Colonial Troops but they could have been some of the Harlem Hellfighters seconded to the French. Which makes me think about how weird it is there hasn't been a big budget war film about the Harlem Hellfighters.

Into their mouths, they don't care what they have to eat so long as they eat They're so desperate that they take the time to raid a kitchen in the French trenches.

I also liked the inclusion of black soldiers among the French forces.

I also liked the use of food in the film, officers and politicians are repeatedly shown eating meals with a wide variety of fresh foods, with French General Foch taking the time to question the freshness of croissants. Soldiers meanwhile eat what they can get their hands on and shovel it

All Quiet On The Western Front (2022)

I thought the scenes from outside of Paul's PoV were a good addition to the story, in particular the scene of the uniforms of dead soldier's being stripped from their bodies, cleaned, and repaired for the next soldier to wear emphasized the dehumanizing nature

And the reality that the more attention other people pay to her, the less time she has alone with Mitsuki and the how bad this makes her feel.
