I loved Perspective(s) by Laurent Binet, a murder mystery set in sixteenth century Florence starring Vasari, Cellini, Michelangelo, and many Medicis. Short too! I've included my cat's foot for scale.

Enjoyed Andrew Janiak's book on the life and work of Emilie du Chatelet. She was an eighteenth century natural philosopher who rejected the great man theory of science.
