I sit here in rural Nova Scotia listening to some of the most intellectually challenging music ever made - jazz - the great American art form. I wonder what has become of your amazing country. The barbarians are in charge. You will be back though, I know it.

I just left a hotel bar in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A large, older American man ordered like this, “gimme some ice, no, no, in a plastic cup”. “ Yes sir”, said the Canadian server. That might seem normal to Americans but it was jarring to us Canadians. No please or thank-you. Never a state, ever.
