truly, it is a humongous burden I carry, to constantly restrain myself from mentioning transformers and becoming The Most Annoying Person Ever for 2+ hours. few of you understand my noble sacrifice here.

"but creativity thrives under pressure! terrible times have resulted in great art!" ok? life would keep being complicated, interesting, and occasionally horrible without capitalism fucking everyone over, I promise. and the people whose work you enjoy wouldn't be suffering as much. is that not enough

if you want more cool and interesting things to experience in this world, then make it possible for people to survive without shredding themselves to the bone (or fucking up the planet) in the process. simple as

I get that this response is well-intentioned and meant as a compliment, but I resent feeling like the vital creative spark within all of us is only treated like it's worthwhile if you can use it to turn a profit. it's probably my #1 source of creative blocks.
