When we talk about building new digital infrastructures, what it really means is that we need to create forms of communicating information that are not weapons. The current infrastructural paradigm was built with the blood of thousands to possibilitate the extermination of millions.

The new report from the UN special rapporteur Francesca Albanese shows beyond the shadow of a doubt how the tech industry is powerig the genocide of the Palestinian people. These companies are going out of their way to provide the necessary infrastructure to exterminate Palestinian life.

After the last year, I'd add that the doctrine of share-holder value has been adopted by the GOP on two distinct levels. Musk is tolerated as long as his celebrity maximises electoral returns or can be leveraged to further the agenda of the radical wing of the Republican Party.

Tl;dr Musk has perfected a way of leveraging his personal fame in a way that is highly profitable for his companies. His antiques are tolerated as long as he is maximising share-holder value, but could be easily removed if that stopped being the case... 2/5

The ICE is disappearing Palestinian grad students with full complicity of Columbia. University administrators will gladly let the SA in to save their positions. Any defense of higher education in contemporary times needs to take stock of this reality.

The WaPo has never been a left-wing newspaper. It played a crucial role in manufacturing consent for the U.S. establishment (e.g. War on Drugs, Irak 2003, Austerity...), and it was able to do so by presenting itself as a sophisticated and moderate voice, even allowing dissent in its pages... 3/?

They were good at defending it because they weren't fundamentalists. They gave platform to critical voices and played a crucial role in defining what contemporary investigative reporting is (c.f. Watergate & All The President's Men). This made their editorial line stronger... 2/?
