That being said, I have to wonder what the state of those "no sabo" kids' Spanish is. But then, their Spanish is bad -or at least odd- because they don't really use it outside of the house, with their parents or grandparents.

On the other hand, "descabronalos" would indicate these -or at least that character- is Puerto Rican specifically, which makes sense for Chicago's second largest Hispanic population.
But pretty sure no variety of Spanish, not even 3rd generation "no sabo" kids would yell "Correr" in infinitive.

I have to wonder what kind of speakers are currently common in Chicago right now. If Spanish there has changed in certain ways. But I can't find any use of "estamos saldos" online.

I appreciate all forms of Patlabor, but something about the very specific balance of the original OVA series hits so hard for me.
