My understanding is that it was considered safe but they wanted to ban it for entertainment reasons and to balance play between defense and offense. Sort of why they kept moving the ball forward on kickoff touchbacks. Could be wrong though.

It’s not inconsistent to vote for a rule change but still play by the old rules that don’t get changed. It’s not a moral issue.

They put 8 receivers on the 53 man roster coming out of training camp. They are not going to pick up a 30 year “auxiliary” receiver just one year removed from an ACL injury.

I suppose. Guessing Watson opens up the D playbook a bit though. Would be interesting to know. Just looking at the stats, don’t think either Texans or Bills got incredible production from the slot.

To steal from Sam Mellinger, there is no right way to be a fan. But for me, who is about the same age as the Chiefs and experienced a lot of the other side of where we are now, everything since SB LIV has been gravy. Just enjoy the ride.
