I really lament the corporate reversal on cheat codes in games. It taught early programming, and invited the player to think beyond the ‘front stage’ presented to them in the game, and the in life. It’s not cheating as much as it was a means of asking yourself who made those rules and for whom.

Finished maybe my 14th play of FFX and there’s no way it’s nostalgia alone driving my enjoyment. An incredible, thoughtful narrative of overcoming a cycle of death perpetuated by those who benefit from it most. 11 years old when it came out, and I felt the truth of it even then.
