I assisted in working on FERN’s response to the Treasury’s property tax reform under James Nute.

Rural Britain already pays more in council tax, earns less, and owns lower-valued homes — a deep unfairness since 1991.

Any reform has to put that right.

🌱🏡 Rural Britain is being short-changed. On average, rural households pay £105 more in council tax per head than urban ones, despite earning 15% less & living in homes valued 42% lower.
