Paine is a brilliant writer. I'm always amazed at his mastery of the English language. Have a thesaurus handy:) I'd also recommend The Age of Reason, which is one of my all-time favorite books.

I saw the clip and he was 100% joking. He and his brother were making up all kinds of ridiculous excuses for why he lost. He's a tool but it was actually funny and appeared to come from a healthy place.
