I don’t want to complain about it too much but after five years, I still feel like an outsider among French critics and when I go back to Turkey, I feel the same because Turkish critics always tend to ignore me and never acknowledge the work I’ve been doing. It’s exhausting.

cahiers has Nadav Lapid's yes on their cover in the new issue. and while I can see why some people think it's an important and urgent film, I don't see them ever talking about Palestinian cinema, let alone putting a palestinian film on their cover.

i have -3.5 diopters of astigmatism and -11 diopters of myopia. if you showed me a shitty 360p copy and another on vistavision, i probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. even with glasses, this is pretty much how i see:

i usually wake up in the morning and wish i were dead or living in my teenage years. i don't know what the next day would bring but usually it's depressing, terribly depressing.

incompetent, mediocre journalists are creating empty discourses about actors, while intelligent and informed writers and critics, who could have had meaningful conversations about films, are shut out by press agents at festivals because they're not popular enough.

I had the chance of interviewing Kamal Aljafari at the Locarno Film Festival following With Hasan in Gaza’s premiere. It’s usually really hard to engage in-depth conversations during festivals. But I think I nailed it with this one:
