The first of my South Sudan chilies ripening on this rather unhappy 3-year-old plant. They’re very small, fairly hot, fruity and delicious. I reckon they’re some form of malagueta/piri piri. I’ve seen them called rokon somewhere, but internet search being what it is now I can’t find the reference

Is there a more caterpillary-looking caterpillar than this unit? Like a small child’s drawing of a caterpillar.

Found out about leopard slugs relatively recently and I’m fairly pleased to have found one. They have some rather unusual traits, but the one that stands out to me is that they hunt and eat other slugs, chasing them at breakneck speeds of up to 15 cm per minute en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limax_m...

Gav is pretty spot on here. France I think has been the most public in showing small anti-drone systems (probably more for public confidence) like these science fiction B-movie things from the late 2010s, a response to ISIS essentially inventing the drone air force in Syria back in 2016ish

In footwear news, my better half got me some new @varusteleka.bsky.social merino wool Hiking Socks, the best socks I have ever owned. Pictured is a new sock and a more than 2-year-old that served me very well, worn for at least half the days in that time, now shrunk and felted but still serviceable

Tickets to see Oasis were £14.50 in 1996. Streaming has made it difficult for musical artists to make money on recorded music so they push up gig prices as high as their “fans” will tolerate. It seems many are willing to be ripped off
