Why is it sad to say adieu to a faithful pair of shoes? These were meant to take me around Scotland, a trip scuttled by Covid. Since then, they became comfortable stand-bys for my office job, and then trusty work boots around the house. The heel blew out. I’m saving the laces as twine.
