I put the wrong info down in the alt text for the first which should identify the hybrid as : passiflora ‘Red radiance’ which is Passiflora piresii and P. miniata

Indoors or a greenhouse would work for growing some passion flower or passion fruit plants in Alaska.

Very beautiful! I am guessing this gorgeous flower is from a Passiflora Scarlet flame or Passiflora miniata. Passiflora caerulea (Blue crown passion flower) appears very different.

Some weekly passion flower blooms in my garden. These are Passiflora hybrids that may have edible fruit if they have the right conditions and are pollinated.

Some heat loving and cold hardy Passiflora vines are beautiful, fragrant and love sun.

I used just the apple RAW at 3-20 seconds with the main camera ( not the 5x and not .5). I tried some time lapse as well. Used a tripod for anything over 10 seconds. East cascades near Cle elum early this morning around 2am. It was freezing but I could barely see the Aurora with my eyes.

Not successful with last years European seedbank order or the US one so I was wondering if you typically use moist paper towels to germinate with just h20 or some other treatment? Thank you for any tips!

I am happy to make recommendations of where to get them when you are ready.

So many different passiflora plats will thrive in zone 9A!
If you want recommendations of where to purchase them online let me know. I am growing some varieties in zone 8a-8b

They will survive! They are both very cold hardy but from what I have been told the maypop (p. Incarnata( does not like having wet winter roots. In the right conditions they will both take over your neighborhood. I have had caerulea survive 12F and the incarnata that was kept fairly dry survived.

It’s not easy to hybridize a brand new Passiflora with tasty fruit in the wrong place/climate altitude. I am not sure how difficult in comparison to orchid hybridization. A greenhouse would make everything easier than what I am doing which seems pretty nuts to most people.
