Just a liberal Gen X feral hag, trying her best to be left alone with her tea, garden, and cats while the world burns. Bona fides: Obama followed me on the bird app 😏
Here’s a late entry for your #caturday: a baby in a bucket.

Spring flowers are very late this year, but the ‘Greengarden’ daffodils have finally arrived. 🌱

Despite my best efforts at friendship, the local bird and squirrel population remain intent on their plan to kill me (I’m allergic).

30 seconds of the Merlin app pointed out the back patio door. We’re back, baby! 🐦 #spring #birds #birdwatching #old

It’s finally happening! The distraction of my longest running special interest/obsession has returned in the nick of time. 🌱 💚

If you’re in the market for a wool cat cave, and you have an eccentric, smallish senior dog, please know that the cat cave WILL be flattened and repurposed as a dog bed. 😏

I can’t doomscroll today, so I’m going to post this photo of dahlia ‘Daisy Duke’ from last summer, and go start some winter sowing containers. 🌱

Please enjoy this dimly lit video of the old man dog purposely being an asshole to the cat, while the cat is oblivious. #caturday #seniordogs

Someone tell me I don’t need any of these and to throw them away. (Plus the 5-6 others that aren’t pictured 😬) They all have websites! Besides, I definitely don’t need any more seeds anyway! 🌱 #gardenhoarding

I’m clinging on the fact that gardening season will be here soon. This is last year’s accidental pairing of some rogue red zinnias with Salvia guaranitica. I ended up loving it, and so did the pollinators. 🌱#fridayflowers #gardening

I can do #tinyflowertuesday. Verbena bonariensis is a pollinator magnet, and if you plant it once you’ll never be without it, since it’s a prolific reseeder (it’s invasive in warmer zones, so be careful). 🌱 #gardening

As we mentally prepare ourselves for sub zero and single digit temps next week, Sam and I are daydreaming about this year’s garden plans. 🌱

Anyway, if you need me I’ll be self-soothing by looking through pollinator photos from last year’s garden. 🌱

To be fair, I do keep my house a little chilly. 🌱

Finally. 🌱 I started two amaryllis this year, and ‘Cape Horn’ is showing up at last. ‘Alasca’ is still a 2” nubbin. 😅

Every time I start a new social account I say I’m going to focus on one thing. It can be gardening OR politics/current events, OR random nonsense, but not all three. I’m sorry to disappoint us all, but it’s going to be all three. Also cats.
