The snow is piled up outside so I spent the day repotting and reorganizing my plants. A bunch died from how cold our house has been this winter... so the remaining ones were moved around. My seedlings are doing well too.

Making soap. I grew lemon balm and rosemary last summer and made my first batch of soap with no essential oils for scent. This soap is only scented with the herbs. Very excited to use it.

My daughter gave me permission to share this. It's a poem she wrote. She is 15. This is what a 15 year old feels about the country right now. I was really shaken reading this poem.

My weekend well spent... I also cleaned my house, baked bread, and made soup. Had to keep warm somehow.

Got most of my seeds started.... a mix of veggies, herbs, flowers, and other various plants. In March, it should be warm enough to clean out the greenhouse and start transferring seedlings to the greenhouse. I am so excited for spring.

Made pickled carrots last weekend, and 1 week later, they are delicious!!! One is garlic dill the other is a sweet garlic coriander and rosemary brine.

Taking a brief intermission from political action to say.... it's seed starting season... or at least seed buying season!! I spent the money my parents sent me for Christmas on a load of seeds. This is only half my seeds for spring though.. the other half were harvested from my plants this summer.

This is my beautiful, brilliant oldest daughter. She is a wonder every day. She makes me proud every day to be her mother. She is a good big sister and a loving daughter. She loves dinosaurs and Legos and sonic and video games and dragons and crafting and sculpting and animating.
