Tillietudlem is a real place - in fact I used to live there. It even had a railway station at one time

Never felt an earthquake before but neighbours & ourselves near Kyles of Bute experienced distinctive low rumble and shaking at around 8.37 this morning. Found this on line which may confirm it?

2 heath fires above Loch Riddon, Argyll, tonight, this one near a known eagle’s nest . Large one on Bute today too. If this is deliberate muirburn it is the height of folly given the tinder dry ground cover & the clear warnings

Last cut of the front lawn was on the 8th of November last year. Eighteen weeks later the remote mower is out and at work again though on a very high setting. #almostspring

One of the saddest yet perhaps most poetic consequences of Storm Eowyn - the Ark above Tighnabruaich has been smashed to pieces by the wind . Picture of the ruin below but I posted this when it was first constructed

Eowyn is undoubtedly a severe & long lasting storm. Wind has been rising here in Argyll since around 3.00am with a gust of 71 mph recorded within the past hour. Lots of trees down ( like this one behind the house) & some flooding. Power has been off since 8.15 this morning too.

A modest but positive start for the Colintraive & Glendaruel local podcast “Across the loch”…..

Two of us (who live here) started this very local podcast just a year ago so thanks to our very local Colintraive & Glendaruel audience - and to a few who listen from further afield.

Saw this when on a Zoom call in my study this morning and managed to break off long enough to get the picture! The crow is on top of a tree between our house and Loch Riddon

Yesterday evening I arrived back on the ferry from Gourock just after 5.00 and it was already dark - which showed the restored part of the pier off to perfection #Photography #Scotland #ferries

Good attendance at launch of #thebiglandquestion Revive event in Perth . I agree with @andy-wightman.bsky.social that a clear analysis of what still needs to be done & a plan to do it is required . Scottish Land Commission wants to envision a #LandReformedScotland as part of that process.

Looking forward to this on Sunday - lots of good contributors on the programme and it will be chaired by Lesley Riddoch & David Hayman.

Bit mystified by this - on the lawn , gelatinous substance almost transparent. Have heard of “Star Jelly” - is this it, or some type of fungus?

BBC using this again tonight - 1999 campaign . A good memory of those heady days preparing for the Scottish Parliament .

This was about the best of it here in Cowal - taken at 10.14 pm . Helps that there are no significant artificial light sources. This is looking NW .
