And they are paying for those tax cuts with the revenue from the tariffs on other countries....the tariffs Americans will actually be paying for.

Depends on how old you are. There are, I believe, about 40 to go. I try to reread them all every year

The u.s. in particular, with ots for profit Healthcare and no parental leave to speak of does not make being a parent easy, let alone attractive.

My first reaction to the news of the shooting was a dawning disbelief that this hadn't already happened before. In canada, health insurance is extended health insurance. And even if you don't have it, there are programs to help pay for prescriptions.

It was a truly epic bad movie. I also think of the raw talent in Urban Legends and how absolutely terrible it was.

Likely any state that has a legislature that cares about the constitution would refuse to put him on the ballot as a 3rd term is illegal.

And 2/3 of the house and senate have to agree as well. He doesn't have a 2/3 majority in either house.

In the state legislature.

They would have to completely subvert the process as constitutional changes require 2/3 majorities in both the house and senate, which they don't have, and 2/3 of the 50 state legislatures have to agree as well. It's why the ERA never got passed.

I'm in canada, where we have MAID, medical assistance in dying. I am forever grateful for this act as it allowed my father, age 96, to die at home, on his own terms, surrounded by loved ones. Giving people control of their own fate, as well as a peaceful end, is a right all humans should have.

And yet, Connery passed on Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings because he didn't get it. Still didn't even after the movies came out. 😅

My first real exposure to the lyrics of Hallelujah was a Leonard Cohen unit in my university level course on canadian poetry. It was an interesting class and involved no music.

I just had a very bad Battleship flashback, and once again wish I could have those two hours back.

The later 3 were all murder victims too. The downton crowd was a mixture of victims, villans, and innocents.
May 3, 2024 at 4:30 PM
Agreed. I once made a game of picking out everyone from downton abbey who'd guessed on midsomer murders. It was a hilariously long list, plus Orlando Bloom, Henry Cavill and Sam Heugnan.

So...not unlike midsomer murders?
