Despite everything going on in the world and the disappointing things I’ve been hearing on social media, I still find happiness in the things I can control—whether it’s making art, crafting, calling a friend to hang out, making new friends, or starting a new job. I’m hoping that’s enough.

The Colbert situation is scary (assuming this is political, which it has to be, right?) because it's a good reminder that there's like 5 media companies out there that control everything now. It takes a very small amount of people to effectively silence any large scale criticism of the government.

I drew Soundwave from the G1 Transformers cartoon from the 1980s, and I'm super happy with how it turned out! Yeah the proportions are a little funky, but that'll be improved upon with time. For my first Transformer, I'd say I did a good job! Can't wait to draw more!

if you made art this year, you did well. a sketch, even if it was scrapped ; a poem, even if it was deleted — mattered. you put thought to paper, you engaged with the creative alchemy of turning feeling to something tangible. doesn't matter if you weren't productive "enough." or good "enough."
