I generally consider Tactics RPGs to be a distinct enough gameplay experience that I'd put them as their own genre, but I wouldn't be too bothered if someone considered them a subgenre of JRPGs.

I just don't agree.
The full screenshots on the store page look sharp as hell. I don't see any of the smooth blobbiness that you see in Tactics Ogre or any of Square's previous SNES remasters.
