A test model found in the AAfundoshi sub directories from the gigaleak.

Named "yuurei" which translates to "ghost"... a literal ghost ship! The colors shown here are from me manually applying the material index data from the SF2 1994-08-31 build. (model was dated from 1994-07-27)

Vortex jumpscare. The engine and model format is nearly identical to StarFox.

#StarFox2 uses flat polygonal font in a few areas (briefings, game over, unlocking bases). Here is the full set. D G J Q X Y and Z are commented out in the source. There's also another set to spell out "Nintendo®" in the title screen demo, as well as an even smaller set only found in early builds.

The Planet Cannons of #StarFox2 may have been unique entities, separate from the battleships. The CES build contains an inaccessible level with it, and there are map icons and text entries from General Pepper saying it was sighted at each planet. The model is still in the final build's data.

Interestingly, there is another mothership model that is present in the data for several #StarFox2 builds, but also doesn't appear in-game. However, it looks like this variant might have inspired the mothership icon seen on the map.

#StarFox2 introduced the concept of a mothership for the Star Fox team and the 1994-08-03 prototype build contains an early version (not seen in-game). This design seemed to have more of a space truck feel to it. The logo panels are doors which have proper offsets to swivel open like a hinge!

Another unused model found in the #StarFox source code. This is an early cockpit design for the arwing - note the two joysticks and canopy. The right-most console probably used a unique texture from "maping_2.cgx" found in the gigaleak. In the retail game, that texture points to the Airbiker enemy.

Wow, a blast from the past. But even funnier, that wasn't taken from a cell phone. I took that with my Game Boy Camera!

The Monoceros looks more like a variant of the Spectres - which were already in full production/service well before the Delphinus was even completed. If anything, I think the Delphinus class was based off of the Spectre class. It's alluded to from the model you can find in Vyse's meeting room.

Reposting some of my old finds from rooting around in the #StarFox source. These models were commented out in the code and therefore skipped entirely by the compiler (as in not present in the final rom).

These pictured below were used in the 1992 prototype (sg.rom)

SFXpolyDump is a #StarFox model dumper I cobbled together a while back. It can extract 3d models from some SuperFX SNES games, including StarFox, StarFox 2, Vortex, Stunt Race FX, and their various proto/development builds.

It's still hosted on RHDN (rip)
