We pay the most per capita gor health care in the US yet have terrible health outcomes compared to most other wealthy nations.

And that's because all that extra spending is funneled into corporate profits and C-suite pay packages.

Not health care.

Hospitals, insurers, drug companies & private-equity backed provider networks all make a lot of money from our healthcare system & they all lobby against Medicare for All.

The question isn’t “why don’t we have Medicare for All?” It’s “who exactly would lose money if we did?”

Intuit used deceptive practices to get people with low incomes to pay for tax filing services that were legally required to be free.

Then they dropped out of the free federal program.

Then lobbied the US government to kill its short-lived free filing program.

For this?! ChatGPT?
TurboTax is about to be integrated into ChatGPT, where customers will be guided through tasks tied to their tax filings or financial profile by the AI chatbot.

TurboTax owner Intuit is also paying OpenAI more than $100 million a year to power AI agents.

If you are using AI to create a grocery list, write emails, mock up paint colors, or just generally mess around, you are part of the data center problem.

*Rising energy costs

*Increased water demands

*Diminished water quality

All of this contributes to our climate crisis.

Republicans lost their goddamn minds about a Black man wearing a tan suit because it debased the office of the President of the United States.

But this trashy, sexist, racist white guy? Pshaw.

Par for the course.

I don't understand why this isn't the only story and why he isn't giving his resignation.

I mean, I do. But still.

A good time to note that Indiana was the base of the KKK in the Midwest.

(And where did they recruit? White Protestant churches.)
Indiana Professor Removed Over White Supremacy Lesson.

The professor will no longer be able to teach a class on diversity after she showed students a diagram that included the “Make America Great Again” slogan as an example of white supremacy.

Technically there is no difference. The age of consent is at least 16 in every single state.

Personally, I think it's repugnant regardless of the child's age. I suppose Megyn Kelly and I disagree on that one.
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

Calling @nytimes.com.

Do you get this?
Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

When's the vote @shaheen.senate.gov?

Can't wait to see you vote to ensure Americans can afford their health care.
fresh off caving, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen is going on Fox & Friends

@baldwin.senate.gov has been posting ACA marketplace increases for days.

Hopefully, she doesn’t vote for whatever crap deal they've got going in the Senate.

Wisconsinites deserve better. The Republican deal is not better.
This is the price that a family in Eau Claire will have to pay for their health care plan next year, thanks to Republicans. Does that look affordable to you?

This is the last thing families need on top of their already skyrocketing costs.

For the love of all things good and holy, tax the rich.
Elon Musk’s new pay package would feed all forty million Americans on SNAP for the next ten years. He wouldn’t notice the difference but the country would.

Where are the op-eds at @nytimes.com that talk about the unending toxic masculinity that ruins the workplace and leads to this?
CC: @nytimes.com and Ross D-bag.

How about a whole podcast about this ruining the workplace? or community space? You owe us years of articles about this crap. Cuomo. Trump. Pastors. Coaches. ALL OF IT.

For real. Can we, just for once, stop centering the experience of white men in our interrogation of absolutely everything. FFS.
No. Rape culture ruins the workplace. The wage gap ruins the workplace. A lack of female leadership ruins the workplace.

This question only stands if you think the workplace is just for white men.

Being privately horrified will not stop the MAGA Nazis from kidnapping people and disappearing them into concentration camps.

We have heard privately from Republicans who are horrified by this one.

As federal leaders give $ and favors to the rich, state leaders can ensure that families and communities have the resources they need to thrive.

How? Tax the rich with a state wealth proceeds tax.

This tax would apply to the richest 4% in the US.
