Elyse the Fairy 🧚‍♀️
@fellumhistane.bsky.social
French-Canadian Beadweaver, fantasy writer, and occasional watercolourist. That weirdo wearing a cloak in the park. 🏳️‍🌈💙🏳️‍⚧️ (she/her)
Not at all the design I planned but my creativity is taking flight, as you can see. Did I mention I am addicted to indigo? This is the center of the headpiece; the pointed jewel will fit at the centre of the wearer's forehead.

I haven't been feeling particularly lovey-dovey lately, not in a commercial holiday way in any case. I do hope all who celebrated the day of romance had a wonderful time.

First strokes for a new headpiece! This is a variation on Smadar Grossman's Dainty Filigree chain design. Why do I always go back to indigo blues?

Blessed meeting to new friends. I am a beadwork witch and a weaving fairy in hiding. I love making fantasy headpieces and jewelry, especially inspired from books. I have a humble shop where my pieces hope to find homes, but my real love is in personalized commissions.

I am ignoring my UFOs for a new project, because life is short and shinies rule.
If this year I am only mood reading, it only follows that I should only mood bead!

I just finished All the Hidden Paths by @fozmeadows.bsky.social and it was magnificent! Such a powerful sequel and even better than the first imo. I especially liked the Interludes and would love to see more of Azrian and Naza 💙

My current read is perfect because it's about the discovery of possibly endless empty earth dimensions alongside our own. Who wants to go camping and forget human society exists?

Beaded this piece while reading the Rowan Blood series by @skellygraves.bsky.social. Such a magical roller-coaster these books are an experience! The amethyst pendant is meant to be one of a pair. When one of the MCs holds them, it warms to the touch if the other is also holding theirs.

Never let me forget the magical days ✨️

Recently finished The Battle Drum by Saara El-Arifi as part of my 12 Books from 12 Places Challenge. This was a great continuation for the Ending Fire trilogy. So many mysteries revealed, but the stakes are higher than they have ever been. Mythology and fantasy blend seamlessly in this story.

I'm going to be taking part in a very exciting February reading challenge! What are your favorite examples of these tropes?

I think I am decided on my 12 books from 12 places challenge for this year, arranged by the Fantasy Fellowship. I'd love to hear recommendations still though, I am quite the mood reader

First book finished of 2024 was Bones to the Wind by Tatiana Obey! If you're looking for a wild coming of age story that doesn't pull any punches, join Rabid Rasia on her windship and hunt some dragons!
I gave this a 7/10 🐉

Bracelet based on the novel Starlight Jewel by E.L. Lyons! Support a talented indie author and her story about a fierce and morally gray half-blooded dryad. This piece was inspired by a chapter when our heroine is too stylish for a broken hand and commissions a frosted glass bracelet as a brace.

A little late, but I'm prepping my January bullet journal set up! A new year is always extra motivating creatively.
