consider her or her world, they're objections to how his decisions impact Maelle. Agree that some sort of acknowledgement in the Maelle ending of the fate of the painted people would've been nice to see.

Yeah, there's a bit of text supporting the idea, but it rings kind of hollow to me when the last act of the game makes them passive bystanders to everything in the (admittedly sparse) main plot of Act 3. Lune's objections in the conversation with Renoir before his final fight aren't a plea to

so while I picked and don't regret picking the Verso ending, the last act of the game focusing so heavily on Maelle/Verso and sidelining the others made it feel sort of cheapened to me, since the game itself put its finger on the scale of which ending is the 'good' one.

For me, I believe so wholeheartedly in the personhood of the people in the canvas that it sort of wrapped around to being an unsuccessful metaphor for living in a video game -- the characters are sentient separate of the painter and can perceive their world and its status as a 'creation.'
