I'm attending a folklore festival this weekend. This type of singing as in this video - with overlapping, repeating phrases and harsh, dissonant intervals - is my jam.

It took a visit to Germany for me to have a chance to sing from Shenandoah Harmony. And it was in this unique wooden church on the outskirts of Bremen.

This is what my spouse found at Home Depot. Note the very specific price, and google those numbers if you don't know what it is.

Oh, Wirecutter. "Fall asleep to the sound of your own brain" is the least appealing and the least convincing proposal in the world. It's hard to think of anything less sleepifying than the inner chatter of my brain.

Rehearsed a Michael Praetorius piece "Nun bitten wir" with a small early music choir yesterday, and noticed this at the bottom of the score, @allengarvin.bsky.social . That feeling when online world and real world unexpectedly intersect!
