Please buy my prints

I have three jobs that are all unstable.
I live in complete poverty, a sole provider to a family of three in the global south dealing with nerve damage and a new disability after a surgery. Am out of my levothyroxine which I need for life after total thyroidectomy.. thank you!

Hey, as a librarian I need to tell you:

Our funding depends on usage.

So go ahead and check out that book even if you don't think you'll finish it. No one will know. Check out that DVD even though you might not like it. Get ambitious in your quest for knowledge.

A little softer than I like, as the light was pretty low here and noisy, but I like how you can see the violet feathers on the top of the head of this female Violet-headed Hummingbird at @tapirvalley.bsky.social #CostaRica

This is a very special moth found in the Amazon basin. Smicropus longalis (according to iNat experts). I'm not sure if much is known about this species. Mitú, Vaupes, Colombia

An incredible conservation success story, the number of Yellow-eared Parrots was estimated to be about 80 birds in the 1990s. Today, about 3800 of these birds are found in the high Andes of Colombia.

It was an incredible treat to spend time with these amazing birds.

Oh my god that’s exactly what all this “de-extinction” stuff is. It’s way sexier and more scifi to pretend like we can bring back mammoths (we can’t) than actual wildlife conservation, which is a lot of unsexy hard work but actually gets results.
It has a lot of parallels to the fix the environment vs colonize mars discourse

I have no idea how they come up with bird names.

'Dandelions,' was painted by the Danish artist Bertha Wegmann around 1910. It wasn't an arbitrary choice of a plant to paint: the dandelion was used to promote the women’s liberation movement in Scandinavia because of its capacity for uncontrolled, strong-willed growth.
