Ukraine’s immediate survival is dependent on the EU. Europe’s and the EU’s future survival is dependent on Ukraine.

Our aid is not charity.
And it is still way too small.
#dkpol I think too many Europeans are still thinking of the support for 🇺🇦 as a sort of charity.

Though it is a help the table have turned.

We NEED 🇺🇦 in the future to keep a battle hardened 🇷🇺 out of 🇪🇺!

🇪🇺 are NOT rearming quickly enough and have no experience.

Apparently educating yourself about supply chains, trade and international relations, and explaining how they work to people is elitist.
But spending your life reading opinion polls and devising strategies how to use them to your advantage to get into power makes you a man of the people.

My latest in the @nytimes.com on Syria. Don’t let a once in a lifetime opportunity for US foreign policy slip away
For the NYT, @natashahall.bsky.social argues "the smartest way to steer [Syria] toward a peaceful future is to engage with this government on concrete steps that steer the country toward recovery, security and a society that serves Syria’s people, not its rulers." www.nytimes.com/2025/04/02/o...
Opinion | Syria Is Trying to Rebuild Without Humanitarian Aid or Sanction Relief
Trying to rebuild a war-ravaged country without humanitarian aid or sanction relief is like trying to get up with a boot on your neck.
