I spoke this evening to Kilmacanogue History Society about the Freeman’s Journal newspaper & courtesy of An Post, I was able to present everyone in the audience with a copy of the stamp issued for the Freeman this year on a First Day Cover.

The anniversary of the assassination of JFK. We have travelled a great distance downhill from Kennedy to Trump. I visited Dallas in 2017.

Delighted to receive today the Irish Stamp Yearbook 2024 issued by An Post. My introduction refers to the highlights of our stamp programme in 2024.
I have now retired as chair of the Philatelic Advisory Committee. It was the greatest honour to chair it since 2016.

I loved Tasmania: Port Arthur and Museum of Modern Art (of course). But take a tour of the Parliament Building & see the portrait of Edmund Dwyer Gray Jr (of the family that owned the Freeman’s Journal, premier of Tasmania 1939). In Melbourne, take a tour of the old jail.
