What really gets me about FDR is that he introduced his Second Bill of Rights idea in 1944, and it's an idea so progressive that you almost couldn't run a campaign on it today because it's too far-reaching. It would be trying to accomplish too much. How far we have fallen.

Let's see: Grover Cleveland won three straight popular vote victories: 48.8-48.3, was turned out on an Electoral Vote flip of New York state, but won the PV 48.6 - 47.8, and won the PV and the EC the third time 46.0 - 43.0. FDR won 4 PV victories with 57.4, 60.8, 54.7 and finished with 53.4.
