Also demolished that spring 30 years ago: the Wisconsin Central Freight Station, sidekick of Minneapolis's Great Northern Railway Station, with a long sinuous brick side facing the river matching the curve of the tracks, and inside, C.A.P. Turner's revolutionary reinforced concrete mushroom columns.
Exterior wall, you can read a ghost sign "Chicago" painted on the side a row of interior columns, with the trademark mushroom capitals that helped carry the slab of the floor above
