She is being challenged by her lt gov but there's no one I would say is a viable challenger for now. If she does get a primary challenger that's aligned with Mamdani, though, I think that's just more reason to work with him

So I think she’ll keep grumbling about him wanting to raise taxes on the very wealthy and so on but she has big incentives now to shepherd his agenda through Albany in some way. I don’t think Heastie and Stewart-Cousins are thrilled about this, but they’re seeing the same results we all are

Stefanik has chosen to tether herself absolutely to Trump, and at least for now, that’s a proven political kiss of death. Hochul’s own centrist boss got blown out of the water (twice) and while New York is certainly bigger than NYC, you don’t win the governorship without a decisive showing here

It’s really gotta chap his ass that after all his messianic talk he will be a one-term mayor whose term will be remembered — if it’s remembered at all — as the disastrous results of bringing a corrupt borough hall culture to primetime and a weird interlude between progressive mayors

Rideshare mostly does require SSNs though, and unlike in other industries I doubt a lot of these drivers are using fake or borrowed SSNs for the job since they need DLs to match. The piece itself also mentions many had residency, TPS, or active asylum cases
