We had the stew last night and served it with the tomato and pepper bulgar wheat recipe from Persiana. It was a great match and both recipes are so easy. Thank you for that serving idea.

This beauty lived at a hotel we stayed in in 2022. We called her Pamplemousse. We eventually found out her actual name, but she suited Pamplemousse far better. I hope to meet her again one day. Also, if you want more cats I'd recommend following @veronicaf.bsky.social. Currently there are kittens...

She's unfortunately not our cat. Rather she lives at a lovely family-run hotel in France. We met her last year, rebooked to stay there this year (not wholly because of her, but partly!) but she didn't deign to greet us this time. Hopefully she will if we visit again.

You might find some useful information here (and linked from this page) about our @metoffice.gov.uk forecasts. There are a fair few Met Office colleagues on here too who might be able to help with more info. For rainfall on the day, I tend to look at radar weather.metoffice.gov.uk/guides/about...

Oooh, bulgar wheat is a great call, we haven't had that for a while but do like it a lot. I like the idea of turmeric mash too. Nice to soak up the sauce. Your stew is such a fab recipe. We made it in the slow cooker a couple of weeks ago with mutton & it was exceptional, so now doing it for others!

Ah, that video is a bit flaky in its playback for me. Can't spot if your MiL is in background. I think the outfit & earrings match though, alongside that logo in the background. There is also this image es.pinterest.com/pin/33601082...

The logo on the display stand at the back looked like a transport one with perhaps Safety at the top. Turns out there was a DfT logo for 'Safety on the Move' and Princess Di attended event to launch child safety campaign in Oct 91 youtu.be/Bp844R512hc?...

The Law Society put out guidance on not using Dear Sirs. 4 days ago! www.legalcheek.com/2025/10/law-... I've generally seen it in cover letters from some overseas applicants. But not exclusively.

I still love the 'golden retriever' analogy! I'm always amazed when I get a job application cover letter or email saying 'Dear Sir(s)'. I have to put aside my bias as I know it is still taught to some, but I hate it so. One quick note - there is a typo in the second tip on this page, a that not than

20 years ago I don't think I'd thought about it. But as I've read more on equity etc, talked to others, & just been curious about why I seem to have reactions to things like this, I'm stronger in my feelings about it while always trying to ensure I address others as they wish to be.

It's fascinating in many ways - all deeply personal and sometimes difficult to describe without others then feeling like you are judging their life choices. In essence I see myself just as Felicity Liggins. No letters needed before or after that which others might use to make decisions about me.

I think a lot of it comes from my discomfort in salutations being related to marriage status (more so historically I recognise). It's tangentially related to why we chose Civil Partnership rather than marriage too (I'm in hetero relationship). All tied up in the way I feel about who I am as a woman.

Congratulations!
Definitely. I prefer that over people guessing or assuming, & I prefer it over Ms Liggins, even in formal situations. A particular bugbear is online forms. Why do you need it for an eye test booking?!?! If you want to give people the option, give me the option of not having one!

I initially thought 'Gen Z, are they old enough for marriage?' & then looked it up. Totally possible & oh my how is it 28 years since 1997... I'm an elder Millennial. I dislike using any form of salutation. If I do it's Ms but would rather not use one at all. If I'm not forced to, I don't.

It is niche, but it is still worth plugging! I'm having to work from home today so am missing the market, but I'm just about to join a team meeting, so I'll do a plug for your stall in that for those who are in HQ today. I hope it goes well.

I parked up, my partner grabbed a hog box & I scooped the little one up. It weighed just 135g. So instead of slowly unpacking, getting dinner & relaxing, we ended up taking it to a vets & it's now being looked after at a local hog rescue. Hopefully we will re-home it when it is bigger and well.
