Tracked oryx in White Sands NP. Populations have grown to thousands from the few introduced decades ago, displacing native deer & eating up the good browse plants. But fun to track! They seem to follow favorite paths day after day, have latrines, and like a good view while they relieve themselves. 🧪

there's an intrepid banana slug who, most days, likes to climb (slime? what's the right verb here) high on our kitchen window and crunch down whole sprigs of mock-orange leaves. Unique to see their chompers from the underside. [this video goes out to all who say banana slugs only eat decaying stuff]
