All good writing eventually addresses plot holes and tries to fix them or at least distract from them. Part of the joy of rewriting Robert’s storyline was coming up for solutions for them, but the distracting dialogue here is acted so well, unanswered questions don’t matter #SBsoap #RoscoeBorn

A script can be beautifully written, but the interpretation by the actor is everything. When Cruz closes his eyes, we get to see him go from pride and anger to “I’m being an idiot.” So much said with no words in less than a minute #SBsoap #AMartinez #MarcyWalker

I love #darkcomedy and dark #soapopera comedy even more. It’s difficult to write and one needs excellent actors like #RobinMattson and #JudithMcConnell to bring it to life. #SBsoap was certainly on part with #TwinPeaks in this regard if not better.

The most interesting characters aren’t clearly good or bad. We become addicted to them bc the human brain is wired to categorize & it’s never clear which box to put them in. I couldn’t stop watching original #rhony for that reason and #SBsoap writers were excellent at creating Robert that way.

The original scene was one of the most painful for #CruzEden fans but such incredible performances by #AMartinez and #MarcyWalker make it clear why #SBsoap is still so loved. Recutting this scene as I rewrote the Robert Barr storyline felt like a bit like a travesty even to keep #CruzEden together

#Bipolar2 makes the idea of seeing someone at their best & worst complex. Is it the best & worst of the person or the best & worst of the symptoms? Part of who someone is as a person is how they handle the irritability, the pressured speech, the depression and all the rest. #SBsoap
