Not a first love but a forever one. The sort you don’t believe in until you have it, until you lose it. The kind that stains the memory and clings to the soul. The one you look for in every lifetime that comes after.

We look at the stars and dream and wish and hope and I wonder if it’s because it’s where we came from. If some part of us, the soul stuff, knows we left a bit of ourselves behind when we fell.

It wasn’t love at first sight because sometimes hearts are shy but it will be love until the last glance because mine will keep looking towards you until the day I die.

Look for the shy one and notice the way the loud one will poke and prod until they get them to smile, laugh, blush; playing silly to put them at ease.
They’ll tease and tease until the shyness melts away and the shy one retaliates and says: ‘Now I’ll only stop if you say please.’

Just a couple of souls that fell from the same star. Just a couple of hearts that figured out they beat better in tandem.

If hearts could be pressed like flowers I’d place mine between the pages of my favourite books and always live within stories.

It’s meant to be and by that I mean there is a perfect height difference for forehead kisses.

Unspoken ‘I love you’s are my favourite. You don’t have to say it, I see it. It’s in your gentle touch. It’s in the tone of your voice and the light in your eyes when you say their name. It’s in the way your body tilts towards them, like a sunflower following the sun.
