Switzerland have a capital gains tax on property (most capital assets for private investors are CGT exempt).
I like that their CGT property tax is a prescribed CGT rate that’s regressive based on length of ownership - would prefer if NZ CGT proposals did this rather than use the marginal tax rate.

Still it might be in line with the exponential growth that continued given that we’re now at 10million. Invite codes were still in short supply when I joined.

I have the Powerwall 2 and I’m happy that I can store solar power whenever the sun shines and I’m not otherwise using it regardless of whether the car is there or not. Can also have a cheaper car, PHEV in my case. Car bidirectional is useful though especially in winter when more power is used.

Hi Simon, I’ve discovered that the Swiss Automobile Association have a great tool for comparing the lifetime CO2 from production, operation and disposal of vehicles.

Some interesting results like this small/mid EV v. small mild hybrid v. large ICE

I don’t think they are wanting the Greens to be torn apart, I think they are simply quite thick by thinking there is compatibility. Take for instance these off the planet remarks by Bill English.

Nonsense, fuel prices are going to massively increase, the ETS is now the only tool to reduce emissions, but don’t worry you’ll be able to pay for higher fuel prices with your ETS dividend receipts.

The Model 3 AWD is a great price before rebate but I’ll need more ground clearance.

I will keep going with my Outlander PHEV for a bit longer - don’t like the large dimensions of utes. I’m sure more choice will be coming soon - AWD means dual motor so they are still quite expensive.

Totally, my wish list is a AWD (need to launch a boat on the beach) and a LFP battery - find it frustrating that manufacturers don’t specify battery chemistry - Subaru Solterra would be ok but I guess it has NMC.
October 11, 2023 at 11:23 PM
That’s good to know given that the BYD has a LFP battery that has lower energy density (performance/ acceleration) than NMC.
